What is the easiest way to get Cell Number Verifications on your consent calls? Permission based calling is still the most effective, but can get pricy if you don't verify (we recommend about once a month) your calling records. Some of the folks you're talking to have been around longer than the reassigned number statutes themselves! But that doesn't mean your safe from consumers, and now businesses, coming back and claiming, "I never gave you permission to call me" or worse, "I just got this number, I'm filing a suit." The easiest way to verify you're calling the right person, that is, the one that gave you permission to call in the first place, is to turn on the Cell Owner Identification Filter on your current Do Not Call Law Compliance Dashboard. That'll take advantage of a direct-to-carrier relationship comparing the date on which you got permission to call with the carrier's last "touch date" with that owner.
So when you're scrubbing for Cells, VoIP, National and State Do Not Calls, Company Specific in-house list - you can just add a Mobile Number Verification Scrub, sometimes called a Reasigned Number Scrub, and you're done.
We always suggest keeping your TCPA Compliance efforts with a single provider.
That way, should something go wrong, you're spared the vendor blame game! Not to mention it's just plain easier for the sales, marketing and IT teams to be on the same page.
If you have a different vendor for each of your DNC and TCPA chores, it's not going to go well when the CFPB, FTC, FCC or private right of action attorney's show up.
Don't be fooled by judges "staying" cases on this.
We don't see it changing anytime soon. If your Do Not Call Compliance Provider doesn't provide a Cell Owner Verification filter, call me and I'll get you one.
